Ron Foxcroft Wins “Coaches vs. Cancer Champion Award as Official of the Year”

Congratulations to Ron Foxcroft of the Hamilton Board on recently being honoured as the Coaches vs. Cancer Champion Award as Official of the Year.

The ceremony was to be held on the Saturday of the Final Four in Atlanta, however that was cancelled for obvious reasons. Ron is the first Canadian to be named to the award. In response to receiving the reward, Ron had the following to say:

“It is not about Ron Foxcroft receiving the award, it is accepted on behalf of the entire Hamilton Board. An honour for our Board and Canada. The American Cancer Society , in partnership with NCAA, IAABO and Fox 40 began the Pink Whistle Campaign in 2007. We have raised $2.2 Million to help research for cancer.  The Hamilton Board has been leaders in Canada to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society for our Pink Whistle Campaign. Some good news for our Board. A big shout out to Donnie Eppley and Tom Lopes for steering this campaign for all IAABO Officials. While we are working hard to fight the Covid-19 crisis, our Board has not forgotten those who have been inflicted with cancer.”

An article featuring Ron and mentioning his most recent accolade was also posted on the McMaster University website, marauders.ca and can be found at this link.
